    Posted: Yesterday at 3:08pm
Hello,

My old DC-1 worked perfectly but since a couple of week does not respond to its remote !
I changed and tested with 3 couple of batteries
I unplugged the device
I even reset the RAM by pressing the two buttons REC/ZONE2 & EFFECT
I opened the remote itself (nothing was strange)
To resume: NO WAY

How can I check the origin of the issue ? and fix it, of course.

Thanks

If you have a digital camera (non-SLR) or camcorder you can check to see if the remote is still flashing by watching the IR emitter on the remote through the camera. You will see it flash if it is working.

Thanks a lot for the trick, I didn't know and I can't even believed it but I can see the IR led of the Lex remote flashing through the viever of my camcorder (same effect with all my remotes around me:-)
So the issue comes from the device itself: annoying :-(

That does not absolutely rule out the remote (it could be flashing the wrong thing) but it is more likely the problem is at the Lexicon itself.

Are you sure you went through the menus to get to the factory reset and selected it?

Yes, I'm pretty sure as I followed the instructions below:

try the following reset procedure:

Please understand that this will erase all of your customized settings.

1. Turn back panel AC mains switch OFF
2. Press and hold REC/ZONE 2 & EFFECT buttons while powering back ON from the rear. Keep holding the buttons down until "EXTENDED DIAGNOSTICS Select A Test" is displayed. Once this is displayed, you may release the buttons.
3. Turn the volume knob to the right, until "Clear Ram..." is displayed
4. Press the MUTE button
5. Press the TAPE button
6. Unit will re-boot and run through diagnostics

By the way I discovered a lot of hidden factory's option menus.
