I have a small 2 speaker setup with a centre channel and I was trying to hook up my wii and xbox to my receiver and from there to my tv through rca cables.
So OUT from game console to IN to receiver and OUT from receiver to the TV. I get sound but never a video signal in either system. I thought I was hooking it up properly .. looked good anyway but it didnt work.
Am I doing something wrong here?

Are you making connections for the audio and the video? Analogue audio would require at least two RCA cables, then you'd need another for video, either composite (poor quality, one wire), S-Video, component or HDMI.

RCA cables red-white-yellow OUT from Game console to the AUDIO/VIDEO IN from receiver.  From there another RCA cable going to the AUDIO/VIDEO OUT in receiver to the AUDIO/VIDEO IN to the TV.
It sounds right .. am I doing something wrong here?

That all sounds OK. It might be an idea to look at the input configuration of your receiver, some times they allow you to select which type of video input to use and assign that input type to a source. As composite video isn't really used much these days, the receiver might be defaulting to a better type.

Another thing to check would be whether you get an OSD from the receiver when the games console is selected, if not, or it's garbled, that can often indicate a problem.

Handling instructions are immediately relayed to "switchers," who operate tractors in the yard to receive trailers from over-the-road drivers. Switchers receive their pickup and handling instructions by wireless transmission to an Intermec computer mounted in the cab.
